She locked eyes with the headmistress.
'Yes, miss. I... I can sort-of talk to people using just my eyes. I kinda just put the words in their head. It proves extremely useful, miss, except sometimes I can't be thinking of anything other than the conversation or else... That gets put in their head as well... Which has been proven extremely awkward, miss. I've had it for as long as I can remember.' | |

| 'Well, as years went by with this 'talent' of mine, I grew rather shy. I got teased for it sometimes. People thought it weird, or else just laughed when they found out that I rarely speak now. I only talk when I have to, and my voice usually cracks. I observe people. I notice things most people don't. But, in all honesty, miss, I'm quite sad. As a person, that is. When I was in my old school, when I was younger, a lot of the teachers said I seemed depressed. I don't think I'm depressed. Just sad.'
